We're plowing through 2021 with our masks on and full of hope. For the time being we are scheduling and planning our walks as if everything is normal (because we need some normal!).
What does this mean? We don't really know. We're just doing our best and taking it one Great Step at a time (see what we did there?). It's important that you register for the event you're interested in because as each walk gets closer they will be evaluated individually as how to proceed. Also, it's especially important during these difficult times to keep the fundraising and awareness going.
Your walk may be cancelled, in which case we may ask you to walk or do something fun virtually and to share it or your walk may have restrictions. For instance, food may be restricted, attendance may be restricted to immediate family only or pre-registered only, and masks will likely be required. Again, we're just putting one foot in front of the other and planning to dodge obstacles as they come (2020 has trained us well!).
You don't have to walk or participate in an event to Be a Hero and improve the lives of children and adults with NF or schwannomatosis. You can hold your own "Do It Yourself" (DIY) campaign or event. Contact us for ideas or learn more HERE.
If you aren’t walking in a Great Steps Walk 4NF but still want to #DoIt4NF and raise funds to support the NF cause you can create a DIY event here. Contact the NF Midwest Office if you would like ideas or guidelines.
